Windows 10: Need some Urgent help for SSD migration

Hi all,

I added an SSD to my laptop and cloned C drive from HDD. But its still booting from the HDD. I tried to switch it in Boot menu but only one is showing up there. How can i boot from SSD and format the C drive in HDD.

Currently clone is E drive. I am using a HP pavilion laptop.

Migrating from HDD to SSD

You're looking at just under 75GB of data to migrate from your HDD to SSD so...
I'd suggest you use Todo Backup Free for migrations to SSDs. As "Word Man" mentioned, you get to choose if you want to move some or all of the partitions of a disk. I think you'll be ok to just migrate/clone the whole disk to the new SSD and then from it from the SSD to the other physical drive you mentioned having. If you have a Samsung SSD, use their Samsung Magician software to do the clone.

• I did a cloning. Not a clean installation.
• To enter bios while i was pressing F2 repeatedly my screen went blank, but the keyboard lights lit up. I waited few minutes then forced shut down (holding power key for few seconds). And restarted 2nd time. During this the
  2nd restart (Actually from switch off to on) I can enter the bios pressing F2.
• Same happens once i go thru windows defender offline scan. During the auto restart the screen goes blank. And I have to 2nd restart.

• My system is ASUS ROG G752VT
• For migration i bought an M.2 SSD & fixed it myself.
• I guess the problem is not related to migrating as you said.... But i think the problem started after the migration. It would be great if I could find the problem & solve with your help.
• Apologies for replying late, I had to check properly before answering.
  I would like to deal with the old files issue later.

 

Migrating Digitally Licensed Windows 10 to SSD

I am very confused on how to migrate my current OS to my SSD by using the new ISO by Windows. I have installed the ISO onto a flash drive. I have booted the flash drive and it says that I have to go back and start Windows normally and restart the upgrade
process. What does this mean? Could anyone give me step-by-step instructions on how to migrate my OS? Also, my Windows 10 is digitally licensed.
