Windows 10: Network adapter not properly installed after reinstalling Windows 10

    Network adapter not properly installed after reinstalling Windows 10


    I reinstalled Windows 10, but ethernet does not connect. I've tried many methods like reinstalling network adapters in device manager, installing offline driver installers via a flash drive (like 3DP Net), ensuring certain services are running in Services. Nothing works. I've been at this for hours and it's incredibly frustrating. I'm at a loss.

    For specifics, when I troubleshoot the Network Diagnostics says: "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver."

    I've also reset it a couple more times just to ensure everything was fresh to repeat basically each of these methods again to no avail. Insanity...

    Network adapter driver not properly installed


    Long story short. I have a Asus Crosshair iv formula motherboard which has has Windows 7/8/10 installed on it before. I have used W10 preview since it first came out and I've been using the final version now. Internet has worked fine until today. Tells me it can't find a properly installed network adapter. Under device manager it list as unknown device. I even formatted and reinstalled my OS. Drivers from Asus website not working for, they only have the LAN driver listed for wins 7, help.

    From the little I've read, the Win 7 Yukon Gigabit drivers should work in Win 10.

    Have tried them?

    Install a driver for your network adapter

    Go to the list of network adapters in the control panel, turn of the lan and turn it on again. See if that helps.
