Windows 10: Network Bridge (or ICS) over USB

I use a Pi4, which I have recently switched over to get network and power over the usb-c port. All working well on my linux machine with a bridged connection to the usb-c port powering the pi.

I haven’t been able to think of how to implement this in windows, as well as searches online have seemed to not be a solution to my issue.

Basically I am trying to have a usb device registered as a network device that I can use to bridge my wifi connection to a usb device. I would imagine I could use pass the pi to a linux vm where I bridge my connection to that, then bridge yet again to the usb device I passed, however that is extremely unpractical.

Anyone aware of a way to create a network bridge (or internet connection sharing) from wifi to a usb device?

Network bridge suddenly stopped working in windows 10

Hi Shantanu,

To isolate your concern, we would like to know how your network bridge is connected? Is it a wireless connection or a wired connection?

In the meantime, we suggest that you set up your network bridge to refresh the adapter and reconnect the other devices. To do this, follow the steps below:

• Add Incoming Connections from the Internet.
• Bridge the two network connections that you want to use.
• Forget the internal network connection (under
  Manage Known Networks).
• Reconnect to your bridge network.
• Restart your computer and check if your concern persists.

Network Bridge Verse Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)

I have a wireless network that works in most places but in a far out corner of the house is abit weak signal. I would like to use a Desktop I have that has a wireless and wired Ethernet adapter as a repeater for extended wifi coverage. I see two different
technologies and am confused by which one I use. There is ICS and Bridging of the two networks. Which one do I use? If I am doing ICS, do I enable sharing on the Wi-Fi connection or the Ethernet connection. It appears to be the Wi-Fi connection. But maybe
I just need to bridge them? I don't know, its not very clear. How can I check to see if its actually working?

 

Can't create a Network Bridge.


Hello everyone,
I have installed Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14267, and when I go to adapter settings in Network and Sharing Center, I can't make a Network Bridge. I am trying to get Wifi and Ethernet together to get internet on my desktop PC, it doesnt have Wifi. Also ICS isn't an option because it doesnt work like Network Bridge does. The error is "An unexpected error occurred while configuring the Network Bridge." Help?
