  1. Network computers do not display

I have tried several web searches and have not found a solution that works. I am using Windows 10 and have 3 computers in the network group. I can manually enter the compute(s) name, "\\Robert Laptop", and see it, but I would prefer to have it automatically display. I would provide the different solutions I have tried, but I can't remember all of them. Any and all suggestions welcome!

    :)

Do not see network computers on my homenetwork after Windows 10 upgrade

People, a little frustrated that I can no longer connect to a server using SMB once my notebook was upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I do not see the server on the network at all but I see every other device on the home network including my chromecast
devices, printers, mobile phones and media streamers. Can anyone please advise.

    Thx

  4. Network computers do not display

    Two possibilities

    1. map the computer roots
    2. believe or not when I removed onedrive from my system program AND the folders in the owner users folder , Hey presto all machines pop up again in the Network folder.

I have had other issues with onedrive so maybe its best to junk it and live happily ever after.

    Hey Sir George,
Check the following Windows Services on each Win10 PC and see if they are running. If they are not running, then start them and see if the PC's show up in File Explorer > Network ... It can take awhile for them to show up, so be patient.
    Function Discovery Resource Publication
    Function Discovery Provider host
    SSDP Discovery

Note: You may need/want to set their Startup Type to Automatic.

    Your other options are ...
    1. You can map a network drive -Map Network Drive in Windows 10 Windows 10 Tutorials
    2. You may want to consider checking and reinstalling SMBv1. To check if SMBv1 is installed go to Control Panel > Program and Features > Turn Windows Features On/Off > SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support ... You should only need the SMB 1.0/CIFS Client and Server

Note: SMBv1 is old and has been deprecated by MS - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...r-version-1709

Thank you so much i can now see the second computer by inputting the ip address in to the address bar in windows explorer just fine.
I have also turned Windows Features On/Off > SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support ... You should only need the SMB 1.0/CIFS Client and Server

Not sure if i turned it off or on but the laptop can now see itself where as before i did not show up

I dont have full access to the other computer at the moment but will try the same tomorrow.

Not sure how to check windows services ?

    1. Windows / Cortana Search > type in services > click on services
    2. Start > Windows Administrative Tools > Services

    Note: If you've reinstalled SMBv1 Server/Client you probably don't need to check/change those 3 Services I mentioned.
