  1. Network connection / adapter problems

Recently, my laptop (Lenovo) has been unable to connect to the Internet. I didn't install a new update or anything (which is what most people suggest triggers the problem) but I did perform a clean boot to solve touch pad problems so perhaps that caused it.

I have run a troubleshoot multiple times but it says that it couldn't identify the problem.

I then went to Device Manager to check the status of the adapter (a Qualcomm Atheros ar956x) and it has a small error symbol next to the icon.

I tried disabling the device and enabling it again but it didn't fix it. I tried uninstalling the device and restarting the laptop but it didn't fix it. I tried to look for an update for the device but th automatic search says that there is no new update. I then tried looking for an update on Windows Update but it says that an error was encountered. For help, it says thereat I can search the Web for (0x80070422).

I searched for it but the advice I was given did not work. It said to go into Administrative Tools, Services, Windows Update, Properties and then check that it's on automatic and started but it already was all of those things and when I stopped the program and started it again, it didn't help. Windows Update still says that there's and error encountered.

I went back to the Qualcomm adapter to check the properties and the device status says that "Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device (Code 56)". I checked the Resources tab and it says that "This device isn't using any resources because it has a problem". And I'm not very tech-savvy so I have no idea about the advanced tab.

I'm assuming that the problem I have is with the adapter but I've looked through other questions about similar problems but I can't find the solution. I can't even see the network icon on the right-hand side of the task bar. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

    :)

  2. Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

    2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

    3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

    4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.

I Hope you solve out your query soon.

    Issues with network adapters

    Hi Alfonso,

To resolve this issue, we suggest that you run the Network troubleshooter when you switch from WiFi to Ethernet connection. The Network troubleshooter can help diagnose and fix common connection problems including clearing the network cache to obtain a new

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Identify and repair network problems, and then select
Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
    • Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

If the issue persists, kindly try the troubleshooting steps on the following link:
