Windows 10: Network connection issues on Microsoft Surface Laptop 2

    I'll try and explain this as best I can. Hopefully I'm posting in the right spot.

    What I'm working with:

    Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 (Love it)

    Windows 10 Home

    ISP - RCN with Arris high speed modem/router but the router part is disabled because its connected to an Eero and booster/extender in another part of the house.

    As of last week I've been having trouble connecting to my home Wi-Fi. So instead of Wi-Fi signal bars in the lower right corner I have that earth/circle looking symbol with the "do not enter sign". Haven't had any issues since I got my laptop a couple years ago but all of a sudden it has trouble connecting every time my computer starts up, whenever I put it to sleep and then turn it back on, when it locks and unlocks, etc. When it finally does connect, it drops once or twice and then it stays on until the next time.

    So far I have:

    - Disconnected and "forgot" the wifi network

    - Restarted computer

    - Restarted the router/Eero

    - Uninstalled and reinstalled driver

    I always have to do one of the above because in never just eventually connects.

    Everything is up to date in terms of software and drivers.

    All the iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Amazon Firesticks in the house work. I also have this issue with my Dell Latitude work computer (also Windows 10).

    In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.



    • What is the complete model number of the Acer laptop?
    • Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?
    • What is the error message you get, while accessing a website?
    • When you say “I cannot connect to a site”, does this happen with all the browser?
