The issues arise in this order: the PC operates perfectly fine under high load until somewhere around 42-50GB of RAM usage. Then, seemingly at random, my network drivers cut out—but not in a standard way. The Ethernet connection stays "active," even showing my IP and service provider, but with a maximum data transfer of around 8kb over the network cable. Meanwhile, my Wi-Fi connection displays the list of available networks I'm in range of, allows me to select my network and enter the p

  2. Event ID 1014

Event ID 1014 does not interrupt your Wi-Fi connection. It is telling you your internet connection has timed out!

Typical abridged Event Viewer report follows:

    Log Name: System

    Source: Microsoft-Windows-DNS-Client

    Date: 20/08/2015 17:34:22

    Event ID: 1014

    Level: Warning

    Description:

Name resolution for the name ssw.live.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded.

The red text varies according to the web site you have tried to connect to.

  3. Event viewer error with event id 10016

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

I understand that you are getting an error “DistributedCOM 10016” in the event viewer logs.

    • Do you face any issues on the computer?
    • Have you made any recent changes to the computer?
This problem may occur if either of the following conditions is true:

    • A program with the class ID (CLSID) that appears in the message tries to start the COM component by using the DCOM infrastructure. However, the user does not have the required permissions to start the COM component.

    • The Network Service account does not have the correct permissions.

Event logs are special files that record significant events on your computer, such as when a user logs on to the computer or when a program encounters an error. Whenever these types of events occur, Windows records the event in
an event log that you can read by using Event Viewer. Advanced users might find the details in event logs helpful when troubleshooting problems with Windows and other programs.

If you do not have any issues with app or any other program I would suggest you to ignore it.

Keep us posted if you face any issues related to Windows in future. We will be glad to help you.

  4. Network Drop Out Issue - Event Viewer ID "1014" "6062" "131" "10016"

    Event IDs 10016, 1014, and 7023

    Hi Jhonson,

Event ID 10016 and 10010 are generic and are not related to random reboots.

Is it a desktop or a laptop? Have you checked for driver and BIOS updates?
