Windows 10: Network icon in tray has yellow triangle but net works fine

Hi,

Last night I bit the bullet again & upgraded to windows 10 & then did a clean install. I have noticed that the network icon in the system tray shows a yellow triangle & says no access but I can surf fine with chrome & use qbitorrent etc.

The only way I can get rid of the yellow triangle is to disable the network adapter & then re enable it.

Not using any third party firewall as private fireall doesn't support windows 10.

Any ideas?

Hi everyone,

I did both the 'reg add' and the 'net shell' commands and they didn't work. Worse is that it caused MS Outlook to not connect (yellow warning triangle on the icon) and there was the same yellow triangle on the network icon. I deleted the added registry entry
and deleted the network device in Devices to fix then did scan for Hardware for Hardware Changes.

I'm running 10.0.15063 (Creators Update)

Windows doesn't have a valid IP configuration

The network connection fails (yellow triangle with exclaimation mark over the tray icon) I've tried using the troubleshooter to resolve the problem, I disable firewall and antivirus but it doesn't help. Windows Network Diagnostics shows:

pc doesn't have a valid IP configuration on 11-11-2015 i think may be windows 10 got nov update but i formatted windows installed 7,8 but problem persisted? the same wifi works fine in my mobile laptop etc and my connection to my desktop pc is wired from router

 

Try uninstalling your network adapter but don't tick the box where it says "delete driver" then rescan for hardware changes.

 

I had some instability problems with the generic Windows 10 wireless network driver on one of my pc's. Re-loading the driver from the original mfg fixed the problem. Even if it's a Windows 7 or 8.1 driver, it may work better than the generic Windows 10 driver.

 

Cheers for the suggestion. Tried that but same thing happened after a reboot. I had forgot that I downloaded windows 10 realtek lan driver from asus's support site for my motherboard. Updated the driver through device manager & now there is no yellow triangle after a reboot.

 

Yeah the windows 10 realtek lan driver from asus's support site fixed the issue thankfully, strangely they seemed to have removed it now as it not listed on asus's support site.
