Network Issues After Installing and Reinstalling AMD Drivers

Description of Original Problem: I was having issues with updating my graphics card drivers (Error 1603- I have a Radeon 480 btw) and was on the uninstallation step for the recommended troubleshooting. I used their uninstallation tool (not DUD- the AMD one) and started having network connectivity issues. I was able to install the updates drivers thankfully, but the problem has persisted. I should also mention that I did not use the uninstall tool in Safe Mode.

Right now, Internet only works in fits and bursts. In between Windows Network Diagnostic troubleshoots or just automatically losing connection and working again, it'll work for a couple minutes before requiring another WND troubleshoot.

    Computer Type: Desktop, custom.

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 480 8gb GTR. Factory overclocked but I have a custom one. Only have one GPU.

    CPU: Intel i5 6500

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H170M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1151

RAM: 2 sticks of G.Skill Aegis RAM, 8gb DDR4-2133 MHZ each.

    PSU: Corsair CXM 550 w 80+ Bronze

Operating System & Version: Windows 10, version 1803

GPU Drivers: Driver Version 25.20.15002.58, with Radeon update 18.12.2

    Chipset Drivers: 10.1.17695.8086

Troubleshooting: So far, I've tried disabling and re-enabling my network adapter (use a USB adapter), uninstalling and reinstalling it, restarting my computer, latest Windows update. If it helps, it says it fixed "gateway" connectivity after the WND troubleshoot.

Tried scanning for corrupt files (got nothing from sfc /scannow), restoring (restoring couldn't happen, said that Windows.web.dll could not be extracted. Anyone have any ideas about that?), updating chipset. Tried DISM /Online /RestoreHealth, no results. The specific error message for restoring is as follows: It couldn't restore a file from the restore point (C:Windows\SysWOW64\Windows.Web.dll). Unspecified error (0x8007025d). Also tried restoring in Safe Mode, but it gives back that same error.

Thanks for your time Network Issues After Installing and Reinstalling AMD Drivers :)

  3. Windows 7 wont install drivers

i dont think anyone here understands what your asking either when its nearly a 90% english dominated Tech forum.
    Step 1
    reinstall windows from scratch
    Step 2
install all drivers from the cd that came with the god damn motherboard *common sense*
    Step 3
    update windows
    Step 4
install misc etc crap like flash java etc etc
    Step 5
    Install GPU drivers
    Step 6
go back to using your pc without issue.

Network Issues After Installing and Reinstalling AMD Drivers

SSD samsung evo and amd drivers

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

The issue could be because of the AMD drivers installed on the computer.

Since the Samsung SSD is working fine with the Microsoft AHCI driver, I suggest you to update the AMD driver and check if that helps. To update the AMD drivers follow the steps from the article

    Update drivers in Windows 10
    .

If updating the drivers didn’t help, I suggest you to roll back the driver to previous build and check if that helps. To roll back the driver to previous build follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
    2. Select Device manager.
    3. In Device manager, expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
    4. Right click on AMD SATA Controller and select
      Properties.
    5. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver.
    6. Restart the computer.

    Hope it helps.
