  1. Network Share Issues

    Hi,

I've 2 PC's, called Desktop and Server from here on a home network. Desktop is an old homebuilt PC that started on Windows 7 and upgrade. It has a local account and an outlook account on it. However, everything is setup on the local account so that's my main account.

I've a second PC called Server. I've tried sharing network folders from this location. I'm able to access them with the Outlook account on Desktop but not the Local account. So sharing is partially working but not to the account I use. The error I get is "Windows cannot access \\Server" when I try to access from Local account.

Any advice/tips on where I should start looking fix the sharing or some way to convert/merge my local account with the Microsoft account?

Reduced list of obvious stuff I've tried

    • Under Folder Properties
      • Sharing
        • Shared the location
        • Advanced sharing>Permissions>Shared with Everyone and set to Full Control
      • Security
        • Set permissions for everyone to full control
    • Network and Sharing Centre
      • Network Discovery on
      • File and Printer Sharing on
      • Turned off password protected sharing here
