    Hi,I am dealing since months with a reduced network speed after I woke my system from sleep. Happens on my two Windows PCs. Don't have this problem with my Linux servers yes, some of them sleep too.After a wake from sleep it looks like it's limited to 1 GBit. But the details for each card is still showing 10 GBit.I can disable and enable the card after a sleep, that will fix it and bring my 10 GBit back again.A reboot will fix it too.Unplugging the cable doesn't fix it.Have tested but not because of this problem:2,5 GBit onboard Asus and Gigabyte - and yeah, max. will be 2,5 GBit ;-10 G

    well im using my normal lan conector 10/100 can i use my Gbit lan conector will it make a differance?...will it even work? and is it for something special?...ive always misunderstood this i was asking because windows says im not using it..and im not and it says 10/100/1000 and i was like hm would anything really change?

    It's only the device on the other end of the cable that matters. You could use a crosslink between 2 gigabit cards. Or you could get a switch with 1 or more Gbit ports, speed will sync at the max speed of the slowest device in the path. If you create a 1000Mbit link you ould have effectively have 10× the bandwidth of 100Mbit, other devices will limit throughput though, think of harddrives or the PCI bus.

    How to Dump Networking Parameters?


    Had a customer with this problem, they had a brand new Dell Optiplex 3050, with Windows 10 1709, and Realtek Gbit Family of lan adapters (wired connection). After much troubleshooting (many suggestions listed in the course of this thread), it turned out the PC needed a bios update. Among the updates listed on the dell website for bios version 1.52 (I flashed it with the latest 1.92) was "Update RealtekLOM".

    LOM is "lan on motherboard" and the Realtek has flashable firmware.

    One step for others having this issue is to check their computer manufacturer's website for "Lom" firmware updates for the particular network adapter - whether integrated or an add-in.
