    Network usage high , download speed low


    So i have this problem where i take an horribly long time to download anything, so i checked in task manager to see network usage , and i saw that , no matter which software i was using to download ( steam , epic , uplay etc), they were using all the bandwitdh , so i should be downloading quite quick but



    Even though my download speed should normally be 4mb/s , when i download something , it seems to be capped at 500kb/s.



    I tried dns but that didn't work

    low write speed

    when I download an app of any platform i.e Microsoft store or steam, I am getting high download speeds but my write speed is only at 2mb/s meaning that it is just slowing down my updates and downloads. I have searched for answers and I cant find anyone with
    the same problem, most of them have low disks speeds and their usage is at 100% but I have low disk speeds and I have only seen my usage go up to 3%.

    this picture is during a 36GB download off the Microsoft store and as you can see, the write speed is low.

    For us to narrow down your concern with network download speed, we would like to know the following:

    • Are you only experiencing network speed issue when downloading?
    • What are you trying to download (e.g. application, update or file)?
    • To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

    Windows 10 Pro x64 - very low internet upload speed over Ethernet

    Hi Tomas,

    There are possible reasons why you have a low upload speed while download speed is high. For us to isolate the issue, please provide the following information:

    • When does the issue start?
    • Is your Windows 10 recently perform a Windows update?
    • Did you download any third part driver that runs with your Network properties?
