Windows 10: Network/wifi/drivers

Hi,


on feb 18 2021 i booted my computer off then back on later in the day, i looked at my wifi and all there was, was a sound icon with a small red x. When i click the icon it brings up a page saying “looks like you arent connected to the internet. Im currenty using ethernet and i assumed that my cable was bad so i replaced it with no success. So i tried wireless and my computer wont even detect the usb adapter. So i looked futher into my issue and i tried to uninstall/reinstall my network adapter. When i uninstalled my adapter then searched for hardware changes it brought up a new tab saying “other devices” and in other devices there is a tab saying “ethernet controller” with a yellow hazard sign on it.

im so very lost and any help would be greaty appreciated

wifi network recconnects automatically to another wifi network.............

Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

I suggest you to uncheck the option to automatically connect to the network (networkprofile~), try to remove the connection by choosing forget connection and check if it helps.

Try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Run Network Adapter troubleshooter

Network Adapter troubleshooter find and fix the problems with wireless and other Network Adapter.

• Click on Start; in the start search type
  Troubleshooter and hit Enter.
• In the left pane, click onView all.
• Click on Network Adapter Troubleshooter.
• Select Advance and click on
  Run as Administrator.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Step 2: If you are able to find the drivers in Device Manager, check for the device status.

Follow:

• Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand Network Adapter, right click on the driver.
• Click on Properties and check the
  device status.

Step 3: I suggest you to update the network adapter driver from device manager.

Follow the below steps:

• Press Windows key + x key on your keyboard.
• Select Device manager.
• Expand Network adapters. Right-click on the device and click
  Update Driver Software.
• Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Windows 10 - Cannot connect to WiFi. How to uninstall network adapter driver?

Thank you for your reply.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Right click on Windows icon on the taskbar.
• Select Control panel.
• Click on network and sharing center.
• At the left top corner click on Change adapter settings.
• There you will be able to see the Driver name of the network Adapter next to the Icon.
  
• Then you can go to device manager and check for that network adapter and you can uninstall the driver.

An outdated driver or corrupted system file can cause connection issues. Let's troubleshoot this by running the
Network Troubleshooter. This troubleshooter can help us to identify the cause of the issue and fix it at the same time.

To run the troubleshooter:

• First, in the search box on the taskbar, type Network troubleshooter.
• Then, select Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
• Lastly, follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the issue.

If the issue still persists, we suggest the following:

Download and run the easy fix solution: Find and fix problems with wireless and other network adapters.

Update the network adapter driver.

To do this:

• In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select
  Device Manager from the list of results.
• In Device Manager, select Network adapters, then click network adapter name.
• Press and hold (or right-click) the network adapter, and then select
  Update driver.
• Select Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the steps, then select
  Close.
• After installing the updated driver, select Start, then click
  Power.
• Select Restart if you're asked to restart, and see if that fixes the connection issue.
