Windows 10: Networking seems to fail after windows wakes up from sleep.

Lately, this problem has been plaguing me. I do not know when it started as I don't usually leave my PC on for this long.

I use ethernet and once I awake my PC from sleep, the network adapter immediately breaks. In the system tray, it becomes a globe with a cross on it. Here is my event viewer log...

highlighted is the time of which the event happened.

I am on 20H2 update however this happened in 1908 as far as I remember.

Specs:

Ryzen 7 3700x

RTX 2070 SUPER

4x8GB Corsair Vengence RGB Pro

wake from sleep issue in windows 10

Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

• Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the command line below:

Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

S4 (hibernation) USB/network wake up

Hi,

I have this annoying problem. When my computer enters the S4 powerstate (hibernation) I can wake it up by just clicking with the mouse. Even when EuP is enabled the mouse can still wake up the computer. After a night of sleep I find the computer powered on. So not only can the mouse wake up the system, it also seems that network traffic can too.

I thought that hibernation was like power off but with the option to save the RAM to disk. At least before I always need to push the power button to boot after hibernation.

Any suggestions?
