Microsoft is planning to bring Android phone notifications directly to Windows 10 PCs. During a session at Build 2016 today, Microsoft detailed how missed calls, messages, and other notifications from an Android phone will appear on a Windows 10 PC. Microsoft is using the Cortana app for Android to enable this support, and Windows 10 users will even be able to reply to the Android notifications directly from a PC.
Cortana for Android will build up a user notifications store in the cloud, allowing the notifications to mirror onto a Windows 10 PC. The software maker is also planning to allow you to dismiss notifications on an Android phone from a PC. Naturally, this functionality will work for Windows 10 Mobile devices too, but Microsoft won't be bringing this to the iPhone. That's largely because iOS is a lot more restricted, and Microsoft's Cortana app would not have the access required to interact with notifications and respond to messages. Microsoft is planning to bring this notification support to a "future version of Windows," so it's likely this will arrive with the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 this summer.

SMS (text messaging) from Windows 10 PC and Windows 10 tablets with mobile account (preferably with Windows 10 phone syncing)

if you have windows 10 mobile, and windows 10, you can send text from phone comparable to MacBook. It's all done through Skype app, which shows you a history of all your texts. MS had a dedicated messaging app that they degraded and instead built the
feature into Skype. Personally, I miss the dedicated messaging app, but skype works well and they continue to add new features into it. From an Android phone, you can send texts via Cortana, and they will show up in action center. This is in no way comparable
to MacBook though.

 

Windows 10 Connect > Touch input is turned off

Im curious if this feature is proprietary to Windows 10 phones. When clicking Connect in the Action Center > "Projecting to this PC", it states, "Project your Windows phone or PC to this screen, and use its keyboard, mouse, and other devices, too." But
even then, I see no checkbox (or other setting) for input controls. My assumption is if anybody doing this with an Android device has been able to remotely control their Android device, they were lucky. Either that or Windows hasn't perfected this feature
and have no support/troubleshooting for it.
