Windows 10: New Battery suddenly being drained

Hello, I just got a new battery for my HP Laptop to replace the old battery that reached its end of life, suddenly when I was casually on it, the battery % went from 70% to 7% in just a manner of seconds out of no where. First the notification popped up and the screen saver turned on and it told me to plug in my charger and then I looked at how low it went. I honestly don't know what to do because this is a new battery, is this common when you switch batteries or did I get a faulty battery?

C6 battery drain too fast

Battery drains while on sleep mode.


even mine has a slow battery drain, using Win 8.1. Even when powered off, not in sleep or hibernate, but off. It still uses the battery to keep the clock going.
Turn off fast start, as suggested, hibernate over sleep as it uses less power, and if you aren't going to use it for several hours, shut it off.

 

Failing battery or draining issues?

I was suggested to reinstall the drivers. Device Manager didn't expressed any anomalies, but reinstalling the drivers yielded outstanding results. The device now lasted 4 hours and 23 minutes. The last hour and 23 minute was with the device playing music in Media Player Classic with the display always-on at 100% brightness and the volume 80%.
