New computer keeps crashing when playing games

    Hi,

My computer seems to crash at random when playing games.
By looking at the crash dumps it seems like there are many different types of errors, but they are all involving ntoskrnl.exe.

Seems to be happening most often when playing games at 4k. At first I thought it might be the power supply, but I also suspect the RAM.

I've attached all of the dump files.

Edit: Seems like it's occurring more and more often now. Been trying to play Rising Storm 2 this afternoon. And the computer have been crashing after just a few minutes.

    :)

Getting random BSODS and getting PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA BSOD while installing Windows 7.

    Original Title: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Computer keeps getting this error after reinstalling windows 10 on new m.2 ssd. Computer gets into BSOD randomly. One moment i maybe playing games and it crashed. Other moments can be when i am just web browsing. Tried installing windows 7 and suddenly this
    BSOD appeared PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (FNETHYRAMAS.SYS).

    Thanks in advance.

Looking at msinfo32.nfo, you are having a problem with NVIDIA High Definition Audio.

The latest dump is from 4/18 which is amonth ago. Are you no longer getting BSODs. If you are, it looks like the mini dump is not being written to C:\Windows\minidump. Please make sure your PC is configured for small dump files:

How to Configure Windows 10 to Create Dump Files on BSOD

    The 4/18 dump shows:
    Code: BugCheck 7F, {8, ffffaf806c171b30, ffffaf80727a4fa0, fffff801f0561cd0} Probably caused by : memory_corruption Followup: memory_corruption[/quote] ===================================================
Follow this tutorial: MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

MemTest86+ is a diagnostic tool designed to test Random Access Memory (RAM) for faults. MemTest86+ will verify that:

    • RAM will accept and keep random patterns of data sent to it
    • There are no errors when different parts of memory try to interact
    • There are no conflicts between memory addresses

Memtest86+ runs from bootable media to isolate the RAM from the system, no other components are taken into account during the test.

Warning MemTest86+ needs to run for at least 8 passes to be anywhere near conclusive, anything less will not give a complete analysis of the RAM.

If you are asked to run MemTest86+ by a Ten Forums member make sure you run the full 8 passes for conclusive results. If you run less than 8 passes you will be asked to run it again.

Note MemTest86+ has been known to discover errors in RAM in later passes than the eighth pass. This is for information only; if you feel there is a definite problem with the RAM and 8 passes have shown no errors feel free to continue for longer.

Running 8 passes of MemTest86+ is a long and drawn out exercise and the more RAM you have the longer it will take. It's recommended to run MemTest86+ just before you go to bed and leave it overnight.

Take a picture when done and post in the forum please.

    Thank you for your reply.
I was suspecting the audio drivers, have tried to disabled Nvidias audio drivers today but kept crashing.

I just disabled "restart on system failure". The computer just completely shuts down and restarts (no BSOD). I'll see if I can get some dumps from your tip and the changed settings.

Currently running memtest, I'll report back with the results

Memtest86+ found no errors after more than 10 full runs.
Also checked the options for small dump files, and it was enabled.

My phone managed to cut the right side of the picture.. so you can't see the 0 errors indication *cry
You'll just have to trust me on that one

Could it have been that "restart on system failure" was enabled before, which led to no logs was saved?
I'll try to create some new restarts and see if anything is saved. Feels like it could be an issue with the PSU?
How should I proceed the testing?

    Edit:
Found a cutscene in The Witcher 3 where I kept crashing (running the game at 4k). Seems like the GPU overclock is causing the computer to restart. Could not make it crash on 100% power limit, but on 110-117% the computer would shut down 50% of the times. I've not yet tested any other games, but at least the crash in The Witcher is directly connected to the Power Limit setting in MSI afterburner.

I also checked all the cables from the PSU to make sure that they where connected. Could it be so that my PSU is actually to weak?

    Edit 2:
I suspect that my issue might be related to only using a single PCI-E power cable (6 + 8 pin) instead of two.
I'll add another cable and see if the problem disappears.

    Edit 3:
Installed an additional PCI-E power cable in the VGA 2 outlet in the PSU. Everything seems to work now
