Windows 10: New Computer With OEM Win 10 (Screensaver Function Doesn't Activate)

Last week I purchased a new computer pre-installed with Windows 10. After installing applications I needed (including an extra purchase of Office 365), I set the system to my preferred power settings, which are to never turn off the monitors and never shut the system down, sleep, or hibernate. I set a screen saver to kick in after 5 minutes of idle time, but it doesn't activate even after hours. How do I get this working?

A software conflict is possibly preventing the screensaver feature from working properly. Additional information can help us isolate the cause of your concern. Please answer the following questions:

• Are you getting any error messages?
• Is your computer up to date?
  
• Can you tell me the current OS Build of your Windows 10 system? Right-click the
  Start
  
  
  button, select Settings > System > About, and then scroll down to
  Windows specifications to find this information.
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

As an initial troubleshooting, you can run the Power Troubleshooter. This diagnostic tool will scan and fix your PC for any issues found with your power configuration. You will need administrative permission to perform this task.

1. Right-click the Start
   
   
   button, select Settings
   
   
   
   >
   Update & Security
   
   
   >
   Troubleshoot.
2. Select Power under
   Find and fix other problems.
3. Click Run the troubleshooter.
4. If prompted, click Yes or enter the administrator password.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Should the issue continue, we can perform a clean boot. A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you use your PC. Just like the steps above,
you need administrative rights for this procedure.

1. Click the Start
   
   
   button, type System Configuration and then press
   Enter.
2. If prompted, choose Yes or enter the administrator password.
3. On the Services tab of the
   System Configuration window, select the
   Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click
   Disable all.
4. On the Startup tab of the
   System Configuration window, click
   Open Task Manager.
5. On the Startup tab in
   Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click
   Disable.
6. Close Task Manager.
7. On the Startup tab of the
   System Configuration dialog box, tap or click
   OK, and then restart the computer.
8. See if the screen saver configuration will work.

IMPORTANT: Go to the section: Reset
the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting to boot the PC in normal startup after identifying the cause of the issue.

CD-ROM doesn`t work with win 10

After I installed Win 10 my CD ROM doesn`t work any longer. Does somebody have an solution?

 

Windows 10: Internet Explorer doesn´t start

Hello,

after Upgrade to Win 10 and a Reset of Windows (Clear Install) Internet Explorer doesn´t start. All Updates are installed. No changes in Internet options done so far.

A deinst an new inst via windows functions do not lead to new situation.

What else can I check?
