Windows 10: New Defender Platform 4.18.2003.4-0 - Items skipped during scan Alert

Just got the latest Defender Platform 4.18.2003.4-0 on both machines, and both received this new message about skipping an item during a Quick Scan 'scan skipped an item due to exclusion or network scanning settings'.

I have no exclusions!

And, I have never made any changes to my network scanning settings that I know of. Everything under WD's 'Firewall and network protection' is default 'ON'

Anyone else seeing this?





Further testing on a Private Network, I thought maybe it was either having 'Network File Sharing' turned off or not having OneDrive running but toggling them made no difference.


Is there some new Network Scan Setting?

Windows Defender full scan not working! Help!

You're not alone.

Quite a few users on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 are reporting the same.

Microsoft has to fix it...

Doing a custom scan should still work....

Windows Defender only scanning 15 files

As already mentioned in the article I linked some hours ago: Running Custom scans still works fine...

Microsoft will sooner or later fix it. For Windows 7, 8.1 and 10.
