It rolled back a some of my drivers so I had to re-download them. Some Settings were set back to their default. It took about 2 hours to update/upgrade which was about the same amount of time for windows 10 installed in in the first place. Perhaps this was more like doing a Refresh in the restore menu where you keep your data but windows is re-installed?

Microsoft's menu color coordination is just atrocious

  2. Found a slight glitch/feature. If you came from a clean install and the Start Screen isn't set full screen and you through Settings to change it full screen and also enable more tiles then open Start, the tile size remains the same. On an upgrade install with Start full screen and enable more tiles, the size goes down like it does (and probably supposed to) on Windows Phone.

I prefer keeping the size the same, just add another column.

My complaint is that damn gaudy Black that they are using. I even tried tweaking my wife's laptop with WinAero. No such luck.

Do you mean the RC menu's? I think it would be nicer, if they instead, used the same color for all RC menu's that one has set for Taskbar, Start, Titlebar & co.

  6. Intrusive new features that piss me off.
REMOVING MY PROGRAMS which is none of MS business what I have on my PC.
Totally disabled Windows Defender and Disabled Smart Screen.
When MS goes beyond their charter is when I get pissed.

Then it decided to check my hard drives for the last 4 boots stating diskchk or some crap.
What that means to me is delete my crap and every time.
Also, you can't turn that crap off unless you go in and disable the dirty bit or some crap I did 10 years ago.

Microsoft needs to get out of the automation business and just deliver a bug free OS.
What gets me is 7 had it's share but didn't crash or bug the hell out of me every time I booted.
Plus it looked like a fantastic work of art unlike this sterile operating room that they call Windows 10.

Notice I like saying CRAP a lot.

  9. If you select "keep files and apps" only thing removed is for the stability of the install/OS. God forbid they want your system to be stable!

Such hostility. And all because you completely misunderstand how Windows Upgrades work.

Microsoft does not "remove" applications. When you upgrade the OS, it is not doing an in-place upgrade. It is actually installing a new instance of the OS, and the setup program migrates applications that it knows about, and knows are safe. That means any apps that the setup program did not know about won't get migrated. Any app or version of an app that MS knows has issues (even if you think it works fine) won't get migrated.

In other words, the problem is not MS uninstalling anything, it's that it's not copying the app to your new installation.

Ain't that the truth Donald! It not only opens sites fast now, it renders them really quick, even if there are a bunch of videos or ads.*Shock I'm talking about how long you have to wait before you can scroll down on a freshly loaded page...

The line spacing in the dark menus looks horrible and needs to be reduced.
