Windows 10: New file explorer layout

I don't know why but now my file explorer is weirdly laid out. I put it to default and now it's like this I didn't know windows had changed the default look but I liked the old one better. Also my drive folder which is the Acer C: folder has disappeared is there any reason for that too?

You may follow the below steps and check if it helps.

1. Open File Explorer.

2. Select view tab in the file ribbon.

3. In the layout section, select list.

4. Now check if the files in the folders change to list.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

File Explorer not responding problem.

Try this steps because I think it's related with quick access in file explorer:

1. Open a new Explorer window.
2. Click View in the ribbon.
3. Click Options.
4. Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
5. Click OK.

Now it should hopefully work fine.
