Try about:config in address bar then search for browser.cache via the search box

Note down current settings before changing anything

    Change browser.cache.disk.enable to false
    Change browser.cache.memory.enable to true

Create new preference browser.cache.memory.capacity and set it to -1

    Close Firefox then relaunch it.

Also get a copy of speedyfox and run it once per week at least. (firefox must be closed before running speedyfox)

  3. Well turn it on if you can deal with the crashes. Right now Firefox 57.0.3 is using 0.05% of my CPU. Not that high eh*Smile

    Your reply is appreciated!

After disabling "hardware acceleration" in Firefox, it seems like the problem of the green lines appearing in videos has been solved.

    Did you see that post?

  5. Since disabling "hardware acceleration" Firefox seems to put a lot of strain on my CPU while it's playing 1080P video on Youtube. My CPU is a quad core Q9400.

  7. I really like the idea of making my apps work faster, especially Firefox, but I don't want to install another app just to do it...

    Thanks for your suggestion though!

No problem. Just to let you know it's portable and runs without installation. It just takes a few seconds.

I believe that Ccleaner has the same functionality if you choose the "Compact Databases" option.
