Windows 10: New game controller appears in Device Manager as HID but does not show up in Game controllers

I bought Khobby modle KS9108 USB RC Simulator also know as Fenteer RC Aircraft Aiplane Flight Simulator and many other names.

When I connect the USB plug I hear the beep on the computer telling me a new USB device is connected. I find it in the Device Manager under Human Interface Device as a USB Input Device. The properties of this device show that a Microsoft driver is used version 10.0.19041.1.

When I open Game controllers the RC Simulator does NOT show up.


My guess: Windows seems to think this is a kind of mouse device the driver is identical to the one of the USB Input Device entry for my optical mouse in Device Manager. Windows does not recognize this device as a game controller.


Additional information: since this a new device I cannot do a rollback of the driver. The device came with no CD with drivers. I cannot find the manufacturer's name or website to download their drivers. So, an update of the driver also does not help.


Question: how can I tell Windows this is a game controller?

HID-compliant Game Controller

- If an XInput type controller were being recognised by Windows, and you have the XBOX 360 Peripherals software installed,

you would also have an XBOX 360 Peripherals section showing in Device Manager.

- There can be issues with wi-fi that happen with XBOX wireless controllers too. Even after installing the drivers Windows

sometimes has trouble recognising the controller (or the relay ?).

You should be able to find a tutorial for this problem with a search. Basically, you have to jump through

a hoop or two in Device Manager to locate and reinstall the driver from Device manager.

- Controllers that use XInput, such as my wired Logitec F310, and probably your PS4, will be shown as an XBOX controller

in the XBOX 360 Peripherals section when this driver is installed, and the controller is recognised.

Device Manager should also create entries in HID when any controller, XInput or DInput, is connected.

When I switch the F310 controller to DInput it gets removed from the XBOX 360 Peripherals section and shows two additional entries in HID.

- MS is playing games with us. Controllers are never listed in Sound Video and Game Controllers.


They are all listed in HID, but as with the XBOX controller having it's own section, Logitech keyboard/mouse drivers are all

listed in Universal Serial Bus Devices rather than Keyboards or Mice with the generic MS keyboard and mouse drivers.

Could the battery be loosing ability to hold the charge ?

I've been searching for 3 days now and can't find anything in my Device Manager named HID-compliant Game Controller. I am attempting to use a ps4 controller and have previously gotten it to work, but suddenly it just doesn't recognize it. It only glows
orange as if its charging
