    New HP laptop - colors are washed out


    I just bought a new HP laptop and I am ver disappointed with the washed out look of the colors on the screen. Very faded blues on most screens. I did the usual checks on screen brightness, etc. I was in online chat with HP support yesterday for nearly two hours but it was useless as I got dropped from chat twice and both times had to nearly start all over and never got to the point where they had a recommended solution. I am almost to the point of returning this laptop for a refund if this cannot be fixed but i would rather not have to do that if there is a permanent simple fix to this problem. Help this senior citizen please!!

    I wonder why nobody has suggested the OP to make a screenshot of display showing these "washed out colors"? Everything I have read in this thread suggests that the issue is not in Windows, but instead in display / monitor.

    My suggestion: next time you'll see these washed out colors, make a screenshot and post it here. If the screenshot shows us that colors are OK, then the issue is your monitor failing.

    Others have asked this question, but no one has answered it correctly. When viewing photos on my laptop they are washed out. The photos were originally taken on my phone and the colors are vivid and beautiful. There must be some way of adjusting how colors
    look on the display, similar to how you can adjust the brightness. I don't want to change the windows colors, I want to correct the way all colors appear on my screen. I have a HP15-bs070wm laptop.
