New Install, Tray apps vanished completely, need manual start on boot

I wondered why my mouse profiles didnt work today and on closer inspection all my tray icons of programs which normally should autostart (not system icons, actual autostart programs) were completely missing from the tray.

This includes my motherboard (realtek) sound panel, my mouse software, my net meter, many things which should autostart. I had 6 or 7 things in there from setting this new Windows 10 OS up and now almost all are gone and I cant even remember everything which was in there.

I can find these items and load them ok, but even clicking/unclicking/reclicking 'load on startup' refuses to put the tray programs back on autorun, I have to manually search them out each boot and start them, close the window and then theyll stay in the tray till my next boot and they have gone again needing manually loading again.

    Wth????

Ive only just upgraded (fresh instal) from Windows 7 to 10 this weekend and havnt even had a chance to run its first backup, ive not even finished loading all my programs and now im tearing my hair out trying to get the tray apps back autostarting again.

    Any ideas guys?

EDIT: this isnt anything to do with normal windows settings, Ive been using windows since Win95 and know about settings such as which icons show in the tray. These are apps which simply have fallen off the startup list for no reason.

Ive also looked at task manager>startup and there are a couple Ive just managed to get to recognise the autostart again but things like my mouse software or realtek sound panel refuse to be listed, even tho they are in the tray now, and I have unchecked and oked and checked the 'start with windows' option over and over.

    :)

  2. GWX app is unable to execute ( start ) .

I have windows 7 SP 1 and KB 3035583 installed . Few weeks ago I got the GWX app installed automatically . I had reserved my update . On 29th July the icon of the app disappeared from the tray . I tried to start it with Run option by typing GWX in search
box . The folder where the app was present , opened . I clicked on the GWX . A process started in the task manger but immediately vanished . How to get that app icon back .

Will it affect my reservation , if the app icon is not appearing on the screen ?

How do I remove the word "New" next to apps in the all apps start menu?

There has to be a way. If I manually set my clock ahead they all vanish so I just need to modify the install dates.

New Install, Tray apps vanished completely, need manual start on boot

Managed to get the sound panel to autostart after a reinstal, ofc that meant losing all my settings and starting over - also FWIW my desktop icons refuse to remember where they are supposed to be and half of them jumble up at the top on reboot instead of arranging themselves were they are supposed to be, thank god for Desktop_OK but I shouldnt need to run that every boot - same with my mouse software, I added it to the autostart folder but now I need to close the main window every boot instead of it just loading to tray like it used to.

Really fricken annoyed at this pita OS, didnt really want to upgrade from Win7 but since the Intel-MS cabal has banned Win7 from running on new Kaby Lake processors I had no choice but to upgrade and now I have a bunch of issues I didnt expect and cant even find a fix for.

    sfc completed without error.
