Windows 10: New KB3172985 update

Windows Update (KB3172985) will not install

Hi all

Just to follow up on the faulty KB3172985 update that I was unable to install on my Windows 10 Home 64-bit PC.

The other day I upgraded Windows 10 with the new functional update of 2nd of August 2016.

The problem with KB3172985 seems eliminated after the functional update. The KB3172985 update does not appear any longer in Windows Update. I have now been running Windows 10 Home with the new functional update installed for 2-3 days and have had no problems.

So, for you out there, who has experienced the same problem as I with installing KB3172985, the functional update will probably solve your problem.

If you have defer updates turned on by mistake, it would delay some updates.

If you already see this KB3172985 update listed in your update history, then I suppose it may be an updated version being released.
