    I just bought a new laptop it has total 8gbs of ram but it uses at least 3,5 gb when i open it. And after some using it at least uses 4gb on idle.I tried the first video that you see when you google this problem. There are 2 methods you open regedit and turn a value that's 2 to 4. And the other method is to close superfetch. Tried both none of them worked. Windows still uses at least %50 ram on idle. I also saw changing virtual ram can solve this problem but i had no idea how it works so didnt touch that.

    Idle ram usage at around 8GB!

    ive seen similair threads, and have tweaked the registry values in similair youtube videos.

    just from a normal startup I peak at around 60% used ram out 16 gb installed ( 10ish gb).

    most of the ram is being used by system prcesses mostly reading anywhere from.1-.2 % for each process. I am very confused what is causing this and would like to know if anyone else has seen an issue like this?

    after registry tweaks dont aolve, is my next step to reinstall windows? Is adding more ram viable instead? Thanks for taking the time everyone

    TLDR: machine idles at 8gb ram usage before and after registry tweaks, whats is my next step in diagnosing the cause?

    I am attaching its RAM screenshot taken from CPU-Z software. I want to buy a new 8GB RAM stick for my laptop. I am confused about which frequency to choose.

    My laptop currently has only one 8GB RAM stick installed in one slot. The other slot is empty.

    Windows shows 8GB RAM installed but 4GB RAM is usable

    Hi There,

    I've just upgraded my pc from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Windows seems to have detected this upgrade but why does it show as only 4GB RAM available. The following is what I have tried so far with no luck:

    • I have tried the msconfig method on ensuring maximum memory is not checked.
    • physically removed the new RAM and reinstalled it
    Any thoughts/suggestions on how i can resolve this matter?
