Windows 10: New laptop with Windows 10 in S mode OS

I just purchased a new laptop and the OS is Windows 10 Home in S mode. I understand that the S mode means that Microsoft provides the security and that third-party apps not found in the Microsoft Store can be installed. This new laptop replaces the one that is running Windows 10 Pro. I purchased a new laptop because the other one was running so slow. I suspect it is because of the laptop model Dell Inspiron 15 or it may have been because of the security software McAfee Total Protection. I removed McAfee and installed another security software app, but the laptop was still running slow

Worth upgrading to Windows 10 with my laptop?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, by then all laptops have Windows 10 or other new OS when I buy a new laptop.
Everything runs fine now and I prefer not to re-install all my games and software.
