Windows 10: New mouse has no dedicated back/forward thumb button but only on scroll wheel. Where is the...

I have the identical mouse on my work lap top that use only the scroll button to move web pages or Explorer directories back and forth by clicking it left or right. After hooking up the same mouse to my home PC the scroll button does nothing when I click it left or right and both computers are running Windows 10 and the mouse settings on both the laptop and PC are identical. Why does the back/forward button work on one device but no the other? What setting needs to be enable on my desktop to allow the scroll button to also move pages backwards and forwards?

There can be numerous causes of the issue that you're having with your mouse scroll wheel speed such as outdated drivers, dirt, damaged cables, and more. To correct such issue, we suggest that you adjust the scroll speed of your mouse wheel using the steps
below:

• Click Start > Settings.
• Go to Devices > Mouse & touchpad.
• Under Choose how many lines to scroll each time, move the slider to the right to make the speed of your mouse wheel faster.

Check near the scrolling wheel is there a dpi button?

The button can also be used to switch between normal and media mode by holding it for 3 seconds

When your mouse is in Media Mode the wheel controls the volume and does not scroll documents . ..

 

Logitech G603 Mouse Scrolling Issues

Hi all,
For some time now I have been having really frustrating scrolling problems - not just with this mouse, but I have tried 2 others with the same results. When scrolling with the wheel, the screen will scroll a short way ( up or down) and then scroll the other way - like a 3 steps forward, 2 steps back! The number of lines scrolling is also random at times, but NEVER smooth. So annoying. I have tried all the mouse wheel stuff in control panel. Having to use the scroll bars is annoying
