OK, I can upload it with Edge. It is either a Firefox problem or a collision between Firefox and Win10. I have noticed that it will not let me set Firefox as the default browser in settings. Have you experienced that? Could that be part of the problem?

  3. Since the upload works with Edge but not with Firefox, Firefox is certainly implicated, but not necessarily an interaction between Firefox and Win10. Remember, you've done a clean install; lots for things have changed. Have you searched for problems uploading to Podbean? I found nothing related to Firefox, but you haven't mentioned an error message so I was somewhat limited in my search.

I did find reference to a firewall issue:
http://support.podbean.com/customer/...hen-uploading-The "Fail to open the file. Please check if the file can be accessed." may be caused by a firewall setting which removes the CORS (cross domain) permission in http header.

If you are using the Microsoft firewall it's possible it grants default permissions to Edge that it does not grant other browsers. I know nothing about Microsoft's firewall - I use Kaspersky Internet Security - but I assume there is a set of options granting or limiting a program's level of authority. (In KIS it's called Application Control.) See if Firefox is being limited in some way that would prevent your upload.

OK, thanks for that, I will have a poke about and see if there is a problem there.

Easiest way to check any firewall issues is to temporarily switch it off *Wink if the issue is still there then the firewall is not the cause

OK, and if the problem is that the default browser cannot be changed to Firefox for some reason then we are locked in a problem as a previous man said. Thanks.

  7. If it was a firewall issue, all browsers would be affected. To me, Firefox has withered away and died. It used to be a quality browser, but that time has passed. Chrome has far surpassed it, so give Chrome a shot if you don't want to use Edge.

Thanks for that, I will give it a try. I am thinking of reloading Firefox and see if that fixes it.

  9. I don't see how the two issues are related. You are apparently using Firefox even if you haven't managed to set it as your default browser. If this really is a problem between Firefox and Windows 10 (which I doubt), you might be glad that Firefox is not your default browser. (Just kidding.)

BTW, I really don't understand what Win10 is doing with default application settings. Sometimes I can change them, but usually I cannot. In general, I seem to be stuck with whatever I had in Win7. If I even have to do a clean install, I'm toast.

Yes, pain the neck isn't it..... I think what I might have to do is to wait for another Firefox update and just use Edge to upload the one thing I am having a problem with.

  11. But if it worked with Firefox before your clean install of Windows then there is no reason to think an upgrade of Firefox will fix the problem. You'll just be moving away from a version for Firefox that used to work.

Did you ever say what error you were getting during the failed upload? If you did, I missed it.

I see your point.... It said 'Fail to open file. Check to see if file can be accessed'

Just to confuse matters I'm running 3 systems on Win10 with firefox, no access errors for up or downloading, been in use since RTM date or before , though all relevant updates to both Win10 and Firefox without any issues. this includes use of both a Router, (hardware), firewall and heavyweight software firewall on all systems

  14. Well, that's the error message I quoted earlier implying a firewall issue. There are probably other possible causes, too, but checking your firewall sure seems like a good starting point.

Well I turned the firewall off and it still did it.
