Windows 10: New Network Adapter won't start, error code 10

I installed a network card into my computer a while back, and I was running a Linux Distro then. Circumstances changed and I needed a Windows install for my job. My old card worked fine with Windows, but I replaced it while I was running Linux. The card worked fine in Linux, but installing Windows the card is not working. It gives me error code 10, device could not start.


When I try to install the device driver using the built-in tool, it gives me an error and says it cannot install the driver. When I use Intel's tool, it installed the driver, but still no luck. The network card will not work.


I am using a Dell Inspiron laptop, and an Intel Centrion Ultimate -N 6300 AGN

Network Adapter and Error code 0x800706bb

One of the possible reasons why you are having an issue with the network adapter is because some components of the program may be corrupted and needs to update. To resolve your concern regarding the network issue, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

Step 1: Run Network Adapter troubleshooter to scan and correct any possible cause of the issue.

To do this, follow these steps:

• Click Start, type Network settings > press Enter
  and click Status.
• Under Network Status, click Network troubleshooter.
• Follow the steps provided on the pop-up windows.
• Once you're done, restart your device.

If the issue still persists, follow the steps below:

Step 2. Uninstall and reinstall the network driver to make sure that you will have the latest driver available for your device.

To do this, follow these steps:

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Expand Network adapters.
• Double-click on the device, and then click the Driver tab.
• Click Uninstall, then OK.

Download and install the latest version of network adapter driver on the manufacturer's website.

Error Code 12 Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network Adapter

That just added two Bluetooth devices to the list in device manager. It still seems random if the wireless network adapter works or not.

Furthermore, I noticed a new kind of behavior: After booting the computer everything was working, then suddenly I lost my internet connection. I checked device manager, and the wireless network adapter display error code 10: This device cannot start. I rebooted,
and it's back to error code 12 again.

Can you explain this behavior? Should I perhaps attempt a system restore?

IP from the new network. Kindly follow the steps below:

• In the search box on the taskbar, type Identify and repair network problems, and then select
  Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
• Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.
