    New Nordlocker encryption

I just started using Nordlocker, from the same folks who make NordVPN. I got multi-year access by extending my NordVPN subscription on a Black Friday deal, so I'd like to make it work.

Basically, the app creates an encrypted folder, and a user can encrypt all their files in it, then open, edit and save the file back to the encrypted folder. The on-line reviews state how effortless and transparent this is, except for me, .

Every time I add a file to the encrypted folder, open and edit it, it fails to save and tells me I have a sharing violation. This hurts because I'm a very generous person (JOKE!!!). Note: I can save a .txt file to the folder, open, edit and re-save it. The sharing violation occurs with MS Office files: I've tried Docs and Excel, and also a LibreOffice document, but I think it's safe to assume other MS Office files will be treated the same way.

When the sharing violation occurs, an empty folder with the file name is created and I cannot delete it except by using Revo Uninstaller. For the past couple of days I have tried just about everything I could think of - turning on read/write for the entire directory, enabling share, re-installing, elevated admin, - all the stuff most users of my ilk would try (sort-of advanced but not a guru).

Can anyone assist with this? I do have a ticket in with Nord but I wonder if this could be a simple setting in Win 10.

    :)
