Isn't your other favorite question to ask "why would anybody want to upgrade to Windows 10. What is the gain?"

In the case of deleting the recovery partition - personal preference. Just because you prefer the recovery partition to be there doesn't mean that others prefer it. If they are happier without it being there, then I say delete it and be happier. Maybe they get a little bit of self satisfaction being independent and telling Microsoft to take a hike in a small, significant-only-to-them way.

Sorry, but that is not a very logical answer. We are in a technical environment where emotions have no place. I prefer to stick with the facts. That's why I always ask for what it buys me when I make a certain action. If you want to be happy, there are a lot of Gurus in India that promise happiness.

Btw - I still did not see a good answer why I would want to upgrade to Windows 10.

See I am a product of European education which is quite different to American education. We were taught to always ask why things are the way they are rather than just accept the way they are. We just don't take everything for face value.

There is only ONE LOGICAL answer to whether to upgrade or not i.e. the upgrade is only free for a limited period!
    The rest is personal preference.

Make an image backup of your current installation, do the upgrade, try it and you can revert if not happy. You will be able to reinstall it at any time in the future free of charge.
