Windows 10: New SSD removable kits for Surface Laptop 3 now available

We are pleased to announce the availability of spare parts to assist enterprise customers to remove or replace SSD drives on Surface Laptop 3 (âCustomer Repairable Units or CRUsâ&#157. This includes rubber feet (aka non-skid foot pads), cover screws that secure the chassis, and the single screw attached to the removable SSD (rSSD).

Commercial customers in the U.S. and Canada can place orders through their Surface Authorized Device Resellers for CRU parts will ship starting August 7, 2020. Global availability is expected later this year.

Surface Laptop 3 with external monitor

Hi All,

Has anyone come across an issue with an external monitor blacking out while connected to a Surface Laptop 3? I have the laptop connected to a widescreen laptop with the Surface Dock. Both work fine however, once every hour or so the external monitor blacks out and comes back.

I've completed the following:

Updated laptop drivers and firmware

Updated monitor drivers

Swapped out monitor
