Windows 10: New to windows 10, external sd not populating

My new laptop can recognize my sdcard in the drive that comes up as an (E drive, but when not my external hard drive that i have plugged in via USB. When i go to disk management, i can see it located as Disk 1 partition 1, but i cannot right click is an assign it a drive letter and path. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive, but to no avail. Any assistance would be supremely appreciated!! thanks

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Media Player will not save music data populated fron external hard drive???

• Did you disconnects the external hard drive or is it connected all the time?
• What exactly do you mean by populated?
• Are you referring to media player library/playlist?

If it is about library and the external hard drive is connected all the time, I would suggest you to run Media player settings troubleshooter and media player library troubleshooter.

Follow these steps:

1. Press Windows key + X and select Control panel.

2. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click troubleshooting.

3. Click View all, Click Windows Media player Settings and then media player library troubleshooter.

I cannot open my SD card from the SD slot since I downloaded the new Windows 10.

• Are you talking about Windows 10 anniversary update?
• How about connecting other external USB devices?
• Is this issue specific to the SD card?
• Did you try connecting the SD card on different computer?

Most of the problems arises with the incompatible drivers. Suggest you to check and install all latest drivers for Windows 10 from Manufacturer's website. You can search them using your device model number. Most probably
this should fix the issue.

Coming to the SD card issue, suggest you to check connecting it on different computer to see if it works fine there. Sometimes problem with the SD card or SD slot causes this kind of behavior. This might give us the clue on the
