News and Money apps not working on 950Xl

Another hard reset and I finally have the 4.9 versions of news and money working on my phone

However, there's a number of lessons to be learn/changes to make...

Display of version numbers, when an app won't start correctly is not easy to find.

The only other display is in recent store activity, which obviously dies away.

The store needs to display current version installed and new version available.

It also needs to (ie the app can't be relied on to do this if it's broken):

- let you role back to a previous version

- delete app data

Also with a couple of apps, the store go into a situation where it would say it was available to install, I would install it, and it would go back to giving the install option, not the launch option.

This happened with two apps, so I conclude this is an store app problem not a problem with the app being installed.

There's no way a non technical user would have perceived with these issues.

If/when the money and news latest apps get fixed, how will I know? Right now I feel they can never be updated, because the pain in fixing them is too much to put up with.

Sort it out Microsoft!
