    Sending and receiving texts via Cortana

    FWIW, I have a similar setup (Win 10 and Android). I didn't set Cortana to be the primary task manager in Android but I do have the Cortana app installed. When this kind of issue comes up, I find opening the app in Android and refreshing the screen --
    grab news, calendar updates, whatever -- that seems to flush out the queue and messages start working bidirectionally.

    Im running a Lumia 830 with 10.0.14393.448
    I haven't done much troubleshooting… I did confirm that the phone definitely plays the ringtone and vibrates when an sms comes in when its unlocked and definitely doesn’t make any sound or vibration when one comes in when its locked. I've rebooted and
    confirmed that the app has permission to run in the background.
    This has been going on for a while, a month at least. I don’t know if it's relevant, but other apps have been acting similarly weird… my Fitbit app is supposed to sync all day, but it only does when its open (and the phone isn't locked). Same with the
    msft band app. Outlook is supposed to pull down messages as they arrive and I show the app on the glance screen… if the phone has been idle for a while, the glance screen will not report any new messages, if I unlock, outlook will suddenly show new messages
    and if I lock the screen, the glance screen will have updated too.
    It's as if the phone isn't letting some apps run when its locked. (some apps do work…like, podcasts or audible, if the app was playing before the screen locked)

    It would appear the only new things we will see in this release are fluff around the edges. Not much of anything it would seem about the OS itself.
    Not that I expected anything different mind you.
