  1. New windows 10 update completely broke a lot of stuff

So, I recently got a notification saying that my windows 10 version was unsupported and that I needed to update. So, I updated overnight and when I woke up in the morning, almost everything on the taskbar was broken. My applications in the taskbar are fine and clickable, but the action menu is unclickable, and the windows button and the cortana search, will not open when I click them. When I use the windows button to open the start menu, none of the apps will open. Also, my headphones have stopped working, so I have to use my very latent bluetooth ones. On top of all of that, when it first updated, the volume keys didn't work, but they do now. As if this wasn't enough, since the wifi menu won't open, when I try to click view nearby networks in settings, the settings window crashs. When I run the ver command in the command prompt, it returns Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19042.662]. I have no idea what to do.

    :)

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond New windows 10 update completely broke a lot of stuff :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
