    Next generation Windows 10 on ARM PCs will be powered by Snapdragon 850


    Microsoft hasn’t given up on Windows 10 ARM project and the company is committed to Always Connected PCs powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. According to a listing on Geekbench, Qualcomm is working on Snapdragon 850, the same Snapdragon 845 processor but with a higher clock speed of around 3 GHz.

    Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 processor is, in fact, designed for Always Connected laptops and it won’t power the regular smartphones. The devices from HP, ASUS and Lenovo with Snapdragon 850 processor may hit the market sooner than expected.

    Microsoft last year announced the Always Connected PCs from HP and ASUS. It has gained a lot of exposure since 2017, and the very first PCs have already been launched, with mixed reaction from customers and critics.

    Microsoft’s Windows 10 on ARM is a good concept but the software giant still has to deal with some drawbacks. The next feature update for Windows 10 is also expected to include major improvements for such devices in terms of both features and performance.

  2. Generic power management in Windows 10

    I would suggest you to try the below methods and check if it helps in resolving your issue.

    Method 1: Run the Power Troubleshooter.

    Power troubleshooter will automatically fix some common issues with Power Plans. Run the Power troubleshooter to adjust your computer's power settings. The Power troubleshooter checks things like your computer's timeout settings,
    which determine how long the computer waits before turning off the monitor display or entering sleep mode. Adjusting these settings can help you conserve power and extend your computer's battery life.

    • Press Windows key + W and type
      Troubleshooting
      .
    • Select Troubleshooting and click on
      System and Security.
    • Click on Power and follow the onscreen steps.
    Also try the steps below and check if it helps.


    • Type Power Options in Search. Click on it to open.

    • Then on the left side click on Choose what power button does.

  3. Windows 10 Power Options Not working

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

    I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1: Use the hardware troubleshooter to fix the issue

    The Hardware Troubleshooter is an automated tool which will check the hardware connected to the computer for any known issues with it and provides the details and on how to fix them. Follow these steps and run the troubleshooter.
    Follow these steps:

    • Press Windows key to get the Start menu.
    • Type Troubleshooting in the search box right up corner and hit enter.
    • Click on Troubleshooting tab.
    • Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
    • Select the power options from the list.
    • Click Next to run the power Troubleshooter.
    Method 2: Also I suggest you to create a new power plan and check if it helps.

    • Go to control panel and then click on power options.
    • Then click on create new power plan.
    • Change the power plan accordingly and check.
