Windows 10: No 144Hz option available

    No 144Hz option available


    I am currently working from home using a Dell Latitude 5410 issued by my employer. I want to use this machine with my external display that supports a 144Hz refresh rate.

    Whenever I connect the display it runs at 60Hz max. In the settings I can only select 59Hz or 60Hz.

    The display is connected to the integrated GPU. The CPU is an Intel i5-10310U.

    Is this integrated GPU simply not capable of running 144Hz @ QHD? It works fine on my personal laptop (8th generation integrated GPU or Quadro). How can I get it to run at 144Hz?

    144Hz no longer an available option in Windows settings

    Run REGEDIT and do:

    1. In MonitorInfoView look at the Registry Key column for your monitor. Note the left-most portion of the key (e.g. DELA07B).

    2. In Regedit paste "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\DISPLAY" into the address bar and hit ENTER.

    3. Right-click on the entry in the left panel corresponding to the Registry Key for your monitor you found in #1 (e.g. DELA07B) and hit Export. Save the file somewhere - you can use this to restore the entry in case something goes wrong.

    4. Right-click the entry and click Delete. Unplug and re-plug in the monitor.

    You can just delete the Device Parameters key. I don't believe the other keys in there really matter. I just tried this and the key was regenerated when I plugged in the monitor again.
