Windows 10: No access to keyboard or mouse during Windows Startup, restarted at least a dozen times

TLDR: When in the Windows start up menu after a reinstall of Windows 11, I can only select prompts with an external mouse, and the keyboard won't work.I attempted to factory reset my Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 2020 a few days ago, and it wouldn't read the recovery drive/recovery image. I just downloaded Windows 11 to a USB stick from a friend's laptop using the Window's "create installation media" and it seemed like the process was going well, up until I got to the setup menu, and it would only sometimes let me click things only with an external mouse mind you, and no access to the keyboard,

One reason why your mouse and keyboard is not working is because of an outdated driver. We suggest that you update the mouse and keyboard driver by following the steps below:

• Pres Windows+X key on your keyboard.
• Select Device Manager.
• Locate the mouse and keyboard drivers, right click, then click on Update.

Keyboard and mouse fail after startup

The keyboard and mouse will not work after startup. This occured during a restart after installing an older game (which does work on another Windows 10 computer). We have a standard ASUS mouse, an ASUS tower and plug in gaming keyboard, all worked fine before
the install. We have tried all options including changing keyboards/mouse with standard and usb keyboards and mouse(s); going into safe mode(s); startup repair; and just about every suggestion mentionned on the internet including multiple startups and "mashing
the keyboard" during the startup (last resort). ...the only time the keyboard and mouse will work is in BIOS or in the recovery pages after hitting F1 during a failed startup.

Now... as a last resort (after the keyboard mashing) we go into the System Restore for a complete wipe and it says we do not have enough space, to clean up the drive for more space...but we can't. We cannot locate a restore disk.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

• What is the make and model of the computer?
• As I can see Keyboard and Mouse works fine when in Advanced Options (Safe Mode from CMD), is that right?
• Did you try Online Keyboard?

I suggest you to try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Restart the computer a few times.

Remove all the external devices except Mouse and Keyboard.

On the right lower corner of the system, click on Ease of access to enable Online Keyboard and check.
