Windows 10: No access to my Family Tree Maker

I have Family Tree Maker 2011 on my computer. I was informed that I no longer have access to this file. Geek Squad told me that I need to install the new version. When I talked to a Genealogist friend who has Family Tree Maker, she said when she updated and installed a new version, it caused a big mess with all of her information. She suggested I try to reinstall 2011 which I did, but that did not work. I am not too anxious to do upgrading unless I know for sure what it will do to all my information. Thank you for your help. Family Tree Maker 2014 can't access the Internet

Using ASUS all in one computer, bought 2/2017. Using Norton, I installed. Have NOT run the Norton Removal Tool. Windows 10 Home Version came on computer, version 1703. I am using Chrome to access internet. Family Tree Maker suggests using Chrome, not
IE.

Have used Family Tree Maker for many years, this problem just came up today. "No internet connection or firewall may be blocking access"

Any suggestions?

Re-Connecting Family Tree Maker to internet

When I try to log in from Family Tree Maker 2014 I get the error message that says "There is no connection to the Internet or a firewall is preventing Family Tree Maker from accessing the Internet." I have internet connection, not sure on
what app I should be listing for the firewall or if I should. Some help would be appreciated please.
