  1. No Audio After Firmware Update - Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter

    Hello.

I'm quite vexed by this issue, and wish there were a way to downgrade the firmware on my MWDA. I have the adapter plugged into an HDMI port on my TV a 1080p set. Previously, I had no trouble with audio or video. Everything worked great. The setup I'm using is I have an optical cable which goes out from the TV and in to my receiver so I can take advantage of my home theatre sound instead of my TV's speakers.

Today I decided to download the Wireless Display Adapter app from the Microsoft Store so that I could update the firmware. I updated the firmware, and after the adapter restarted I reconnected to it only to find the audio was now kind of garbled. I restarted it then reconnected again, and this time there's no audio. I've tried the audio troubleshooter, I've tried uninstalling the device it appears as Miracast Display Device in Device Manager, I've tried changing HDMI ports on the TV, and nothing works.

LITERALLY the only thing which has changed here is the firmware version on the MWDA now at 2.0.8442. Are these devices not meant to be updated? They seem fragile that way.

Would appreciate any help I can get. Running Windows 10.

    :)
