Windows 10: No audio in games

So, I've been having this problem for a while now, and it's up to the point where it's just irritating. There is no audio in Microsoft games or Steam games at ALL. However, if I were to plug in my headsets, the audio plays. If I take it back out, it doesn't play anything. I am currently running on a ROG Gaming notebook with Intel Core i7 8th gen processor and a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX Ti 1050 with Realtek. However, the audio plays just fine for music files and actual windows sounds. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver and it still doesn't seem to work. Anyone have an answer for this? If so, please write it down here.

We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

Windows 10 Game DVR audio recording.

Hi Jastin,

The Audio Settings in the Game DVR can be changed so you can disable the Audio when recording game clips. To do that, follow the steps below:

• Press the Windows + G on your keyboard.
• Click the Settings icon and go to Audio tab.
• Uncheck Record audio when I record game clips.

You also have an option if you want to enable or disable audio from your microphone. In the
Audio settings, you can check or uncheck Record my microphone next time I record a game.

Does the audio work in other applications?

If you are not able to hear the audio in any applications. I would suggest to check with the steps below and see if it resolves your issue.

Steps:

1. Check if the audio driver is updated. Follow the steps mentioned in the article to update audio drivers.
   
   Update drivers in Windows 10
   
2. The issue can occur if the appropriate playback device is not selected. Click the
   Sound icon (bottom right corner of the screen), click Playback device and select the appropriate device from the menu.
   
3. Check the In-game audio settings to confirm if the sound is turned
   on.
   
4. Check the Volume levels in the system's Volume Mixer to confirm that it is not turned
   off and the levels are appropriate. Right click on the Sound icon and select
   Open volume mixer. Adjust the settings as per your requirements.
   

If the audio issue is only with the game, I would suggest to get in touch with the
game developer
to get a confirmation on this.
