    No audio output device installed and computer freezing all the time


    I've started having audio problems a while back and since then my laptop also freezes randomly (but more often when there's audio or video playing). I opened my laptop this morning and there's a little X by the audio icon in the taskbar. Tried the troubleshooter and it says ''Restart your PC to finish installing drivers and updates''. I restarted my laptop maybe 20 times now and still the same thing. Tried uninstalling audio drivers and restart, still no luck. Can't rollback drivers and it says there no updates for the audio drivers. When I right-click on the audio icon there's something there that I don't know what it means : Speaker Setup (UNKNOWN). Also, there's no audio when I plug earphones in. I have Windows 10 and it's all updated. Please help, this is my gaming laptop No audio output device installed and computer freezing all the time :(

    No Audio Output Device is Installed

    Hi,

    You will need to select Windows 8 from the drop down list while installing the driver in compatibility mode.

    I would suggest you to try setting the speaker as default audio output by following the steps below and check if it helps.

    1. Right click on the sound icon on the right bottom corner of the taskbar.

    2. Select "playback devices".

    3. If "speaker" is not set as the default device, highlight it and click "set as default".

    5. Save the changes.

    • Are you getting any error messages when installing audio output? If so, can you send us a screenshot?

    Hi,

    It seems that you've tried every solution that was provided to resolve the audio output device issue on your computer. However, we suggest that you coordinate with your device manufacturer to check in
    BIOS if the audio output device is enabled. You may also ask them to fully check the hardware of your computer.
