No audio output device is installed

I bought a new headset, plugged it in, sound works great. Of course, when ever i'm using a computer something has to fail. And this something was the microphone. Microphone works fine on other devices. It appeared that the mic was not plugged in(yes, I did plug it in). After some searching, I updated the VIA HD drivers to High Definition Audio Device. It recognized the microphone. Again, something has to fail for me. This time it was the speakers itself. I tried to revert back to VIA drivers but now I get a red x on the audio icon which says No Audio Output Device is installed. I've restarted my computer each time I try to install a new driver. It's just getting hopeless

No audio, 'No Audio Output Device Is Installed', have already updated BIOS and chipset and drivers, Windows 10

I am having this VERY same issue and have exhausted the VERY same measures as you did. I would love to hear a resolution but I don't guess there will be one given.

Please, any more suggestions? I'm thinking that there is a way to fix this.

And when I updated the driver for 'High Definition Audio Codecs', Device Manager switched it to 'Realtek High Definition Audio', even though that was already listed under 'Sound, Video, and Game Controllers' (so now 'Realtek High Definition Audio' is listed
twice under r 'Sound, Video, and Game Controllers'.

Device Manager also allowed me to install 'Intel WiDi Audio Device', but it still makes no sound at all.

And under 'System Devices', my computer tells me that the driver for 'High Definition Audio Controller' is up to date, but it still has a yellow bang mark next to it (nothing I do seems to ever change that - any suggestsions?)

That screenshot doesn't really help. It shows what motherboard you have but not what error code (if any) is showing in the Device Manager for the VIA Audio (or High Definition). That would help more to try and help you.

By the way, "High Definition Audio" is just a generic basic function Windows installed driver, not the actual sound hardware driver.

It's just my system specs not an error log file. All the the devices that show up in Device Manager seem to function fine with no unknown or faulty devices

  6. Code: Sound card: Audio device: Speakers (2- High Definition Au[/quote] The audio device is using the default generic driver. m/b specs says audio is Realtek.

In device manager, right click the device, select Update. Windows should be find the driver.

  7. Plugin in the MIC to the right port, and enter the device manager, click the "Scan for hardware changes" to have a try.

A screenshot of the Device Manager, Sounds section is still needed. Can't really offer a suggestion until I see what is showing there now.

e.g this is mine It shows AMD which the audio for HDMI, Realtek and Tranzport which is a wireless controller for my recording studio program.

No audio output device is installed

It installs fine but as I update my driver from Via to Realtek it first warns me that it is not a compatible with my hardware and then it tells me Microsoft Managment Console has stopped working.

You must have a different model/version motherboard that what is listed in your original post. Accessing the specs for the motherboard listed on your first post lists Realtek as the sound hardware.

One final option, and I've seen this on several with a device driver problem, is to do a complete new (clean) install. I know its radical but I've seen cases where the OS is corrupted and won't allow correct driver install.
