Windows 10: No context menu HD video files

I have many video files some are High Definition Movies.

When I right click on the larger (HD) files the action to show the context menu begins but then it just churns away for as long as i care to wait but the context menu will not appear.

If I click again most times it will just white out and freeze.

It is worse if reading from an external hard drive.

All other files and folders on the PC show the menu with no problems.

The same HD files opened on another computer with windows 7 have no problems at all.

On another computer with windows 10 the same problems persist.

Appears to be be a windows 10 only problem.

Has anyone else experienced this problem a ?

Does anyone know if there is a solution from microsoft or anywhere for this problem ?

Do i simply need to go back to windows 7 ?

Custom context menu entries

So, just throwing this out there, in case somone knows.

I have added a custom context menu entry for the program rightload, since by default the menu is broken in vistax64.

It works pefect with single files, but when I select mutiple files and try to open, I get mutiple instances of the program (which makes sense), here is my entry:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Rightload\Rightload.exe --server=1 --autostart %1

So the %1 passes the filename to the program, and when I select multiple files it is just opening multiple instances of rightload each with a different file.

What I'd like to do is be able to pass a list of the files selected to the program. Since I know it is capable of uploading multiple files from the context menu, all in one instance.

So, is there something I can pass besides %1 that will do this? I have looked around and can't seem to find an answer anywhere... *Frown

Open with > Choose another app. Pick the app you want, tick the 'Always use this...' box then OK. If your app isn't listed, click 'more apps' and browse for it.
