Windows 10: No input audio working

Yesterday my headphones were working fine, but when I got back on my computer today, they no longer showed any input audio and my friend couldn't hear me. I tried a different pair of headphones and my airpods but neither worked. I could still hear things but I couldn't talk. All i did before yesterday and today was turn of my WIFI, unplug my ethernet, and turn it on airplane mode, play batlefront 2, and later turn it all internet back on. But I don't see how that would stop my mic from working. I have a Lenovo legion laptop. Additionally, i tried updating my drivers and that did not work. I al

Windows 10 Audio input to programs broken

Recently my audio input, from USB headset and USB guitar cable have stopped working. Going into Windows 'Sounds' and enabling 'Listen to this device' outputs the audio as expected; the problem is not with the devices. However, as soon as I try to use them with any other program, discord, for example, no audio input is detected by discord.

I have tried everything I can think of and some suggestions from Googling around;

• Updating everything - windows, drivers, all related software
  
• Rolling windows back to the last build
  
• Trying different USB ports
  
• Reinstalling drivers and software
  
• Running Windows troubleshooters
  
• Playing with device properties settings
  

But nothing seems to work, any suggestions?
