So I bought my GF a new microphone. She had some troubles in getting it to work, so she asked me to look into it.I found out that not only does that microphone not work on he Laptop. NO Microphones are detecting any sort of input.I tried uninstallnig and reinstalling drivers Or I think I did. Installing all and any updates. restarting the PC. Removing the Devices from the PC so everything is installed fresh. No input/microphone works all outputs/speakers work flawlessly

    Recording Inputs

    Thank you,

I appreciate the response, but it does not help me.

I need to be able to "disable" quite a few recording inputs from my list of recording inputs. The process you described has not been of any benefit to me because it is not really what I need. However, I really appreciate the response, but it has nothing to
do with my drivers. I can disable all the necessary inputs quite easily, but they are all enabled when I reboot!

    Regards,

    Jules

  3. Sound Recorder isn't Working!

    Hello,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

To guide you In right direction we want to know:

-Are you using voice recorder or any other app to do so?

I would suggest you to try these methods and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

    Please run Recording Run Troubleshooter.

You may try to run the in-built Windows Recording Audio troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

    • Press Windows Key + X..
    • Click on Control Panel.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • On the left pane, click on View All.
    • Click on Windows Recording Audio to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to use the sound recorder and check if you are able to record the sound.

    • In the Windows Start screen, type “sound recorder”, then select Sound Recorder from the search results.
    • Try recording your voice through your microphone, then play it back. To do so, simply tap or click Start Recording, speak to the microphone, and then save the file so you can play the recording.

This will helps us to find out if the issue is with any online messenger like Skype or Windows.

I also suggest you to install the latest driver for Mic from the manufacturer’s website.

I also request you to refer the following link:

  4. No Input devices work. They are recognized but no sound is being recorded. Windows 10

    No sound input devices working

Since the last major update I have been unable to use any sound input devices. This includes the mic input on the sound card (2 mics tested), a Jabra conference device (usb) and a usb webcam with microphone. I have re-installed the sound card driver.
The sound device manager shows all the devices and says that they are all working properly. When any loopback testing is done on any sound input device no sound is heard. Skype and Discord see the sound input devices (all of them) but no sound is heard if
    any one is selected.

It looks like there is a setting somewhere that is disabling all recording devices.

Is anyone able to point me in the right direction to fix this issue please?

    Thank you.
