Windows 10: No internet access

Hi there,

Today I upgrade my os from windows7 to windows 10. Installation was success. Already in this system there was AVG antivirus 2014 installed. The Internet was working fine and wireless network was also working.

Then I updated the antivirus with AVG pro the latest one and while installation it showed installation error msg. Then I uninstalled AVG antivirus pro and 2014 both versions. After restarting the laptop, the wireless network is working fine. It is showing the status connected. But internet is not working.

Other laptop and phone are able to access the network with same wireless network.

Kindly assist me resolving this issue. Let us know if any more details are required.

Wi-Fi is on // No connection (after Windows Update)

On Oct 13 windows updated.

The update must've invited malware into my computer. I tried to run my antivirus after the update but it said there's no connection. Google chrome lost connection as well and then I got a pop-up saying that Windows Defender found and blocked a "Severe Trojan
threat". So I deleted it and I still don't have connection... (weirdly) the only thing that works is the Explorer app. I have internet; the Wi-Fi works just fine but, everything else doesn't connect. It's something internal that must be causing
the problem and it all started after the update.

P.S.

It also changed my network from private to public so I had to fix that.

And YES, I did allow these programs through the Firewall so that's not the problem.

Suggestion :

Run a system restore. Pick 2 to 3 days ago as your restore point.
System Restore Windows 10

Once done, please check.................

1. if you have internet at all.
If yes, one problem solved.

2. see if AVG 2014 is still installed and running.
If yes, uninstall it > reboot > then install AVG Pro.
After that, see if you still have internet connection.
